As the end of my week progresses, motivation starts to fade, but I find myself encouraged by this quote,
I hope you do too!
Speaks to my soul ... perhaps, because I am a dreamer, an idealist, a utopic soul that clings to hope as her only North.
Sometimes I encounter the duality of myself, the vulnerable side, that seems to come afloat in times of distress. Sickness perhaps? Maybe failure? High expectations? Exhaustion? Discouragement? Uncertainty? Frustration? ... The triggers of my fragility! Fear!
Fear clouds my North, it stumbles my path, it makes me doubt, it blinds me. It fills me with obstacles and excuses forbidding the trace of light to penetrate my reason and see the opportunities... The endless opportunities! Why is it that when we fail or we stumble in either motherhood or life in general we seem to get caught up, almost tangled by pessimistic ideas? Why can we break through courageously to the leaps of faith?
I want to ponder the words above and also refer to the bible verse on Phillipians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things..." Words of hope, uplifting words to center your week in beauty! Is anyone ill? Lift the situation and see it through the tenderness and fragility of human life, place your heart in hope and rest assured in God's Providence.
Are your kids stretching your patience by just being kids? See the innocent years unfolding and lift your heart to compassion and love.
Are you frustrated because your kid is having trouble understanding a subject? And you seem not to find the right way to guide him? Courage! Lift your heart to understand his ways and cling to his strengths, maybe there resides the answer! Is your day a drag because nothing worked as you planned? Embrace what is in front, and look for its truth! Are you terrified of the future, because you think you can't do it? Lift your mind and get creative it is calling you to reinvent yourself! All of these questions I have asked myself in times of turbulence. It took me a while to see what lay behind them, what was worthy of praise. As I rose above them I saw how discouragement and fear easily set you for failure.
So, consult not your fears, instead, take them to heart and make them fruitful, don't stop hoping; you belong to a God that lives within you and can do all things. Keep shining your light and if it dims, search the unexplored places ... Possibilities are always endless for those who have faith and hope!
Wishing all of you a blessed week!
