. . When night comes, and you look back over the day and see how fragmentary everything has been, and how much you planned that has gone undone, and all the reasons you have to be embarrassed and ashamed: just take everything exactly as it is, put it in God's hands and leave it with Him. Then you will be able to rest in Him -- really rest -- and start the next day as a new life."
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross
We all have been there. Some days are better than others, some days we thrive, and some days we seem to sink. Take courage! Be patient with yourself! You are on a journey of learning. No one teaches you how to be a mother, no one as a matter of fact really knows. We mothers have so much on our plate, we try so hard; we have the best intentions, but sometimes regardless of what we do ... it just slips out of our fingers.
If tonight the day did not go as you planned... Stop! And follow the advice above and rest, truly rest in Him that can make all things new. Ask Him with a humble heart to give you wisdom, let His grace take over.
Remember: Tomorrow starts a new life!
